For a deeper look at this subject check out this video at the Resurgence website. They interviewed a professor by the name of Michael Horton from Westminster Seminary in Escondido, CA. Dr. Horton discusses "Moralistic Therapeutic Deism" and how many "evangelical Christians" have similar beliefs as non-Christians when it comes to theology and philosophy of life.
I've heard somewhere before that over 50% of "evangelical Christians" believe there is more than one way to heaven. That Jesus isn't the only way. hmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteThe use of the name "Moralistic Therapeutic Deism" is a scam. It's not Deism at all, it's Theism; a Deistic God would not be involved at all, for the very definition of a Deistic God is one that creates the Universe correctly in the first place and no longer needs to interfere in it to make "corrections," as the incompetent and inferior Gods of the Theists always do. The biggest disease facing society is MST -- Moralistic Sanctimonious Theism.
