Goodbye Faithful Friend

My 1992 Jeep Cherokee just flipped over to 200,000 miles the other day. The Jeep has been a very dependable vehicle for me for many years now; but alas, it's time to say "goodbye" and part company. Beginning tomorrow afternoon I'll be driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am with half the miles as the Jeep. For those that live in this area you'll have to recalibrate your waving on the highway; if you are waving at a red jeep - it's not me anymore.
So long faithful friend. Hello new friend...

New Blog Look

The people have spoken! Out with the black blog and in with the gray. I figured with half of you voting out the black and the other half voting in the black we would compromise with a gray blog.

I've spent hours trying to figure out how to download new blog templates, changing code, and pulling my hair out. I still have some codes to tweak and widgets to replace but overall I'm happy with the look. Soon I'll be able to get back to worrying about content rather than cosmetics ;-)

Results from the Latest Poll

Well the votes are in and it appears that a majority of you do not like the current black template for my blog. It was a very close vote but the result is: 55% would prefer I find a new template.

I've been busy looking for a new blog template and you can expect to see a new one soon.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! I hope you are having or have had a great time with your family.

Operation Oprah has been successfully completed. I felt like Oprah Winfrey last night; you know how Oprah gives away gifts on her show? Sponsors foot the bill and she gets the honor of blessing people with gifts she didn't buy herself. I felt like that last night (Christmas Eve). A very generous and anonymous individual in our church gave me a laptop with all the trimmings to distribute to anyone I knew of that didn't have a computer.

So last night a single, hard working, mother of two, received the blessing of a tricked out laptop. She was very surprised and grateful to receive it and I enjoyed being a part of someone receiving a Christmas blessing.

Santa's Cookies

I’m expected... I mean Santa is expected to eat all of these!

So far I've had "B" (that one was very yummy), "Y" (again, very yummy), "S" (very 'sprinkly'). Now I'm on my way back to the kitchen for the "H", "L", & "E" and I just realized we have no MILK!!! ....

I wonder if my daughter realizes how much I'll sacrifice for her? :-)

Covert Mission

I'm on a top secret covert mission. I'd love to be able to tell you what it is - - but then it wouldn't be "covert" any longer. I will give you a hint -

I'll give you the low down after I complete my mission. For now, we will just refer to it as "Operation Oprah".

Santa at the Sorensens

We had a very special guest stop by our home this evening and surprise Shelby. This is the second year that Santa has stopped by a little earlier than Christmas to wish Shelby a Merry Christmas, this year I caught a little on so you could see it too.

Thank you "Santa", you are a blessing to our family.

Twas the Sunday Before Christmas

Twas the Sunday before Christmas and the church was PACKED! I don't think I've ever seen so many people in our church. It was so much fun having that many people at church I want each person to come back every week. I snapped a few photos today -

Here's a shot of one of the cameras that the media team rigged up before the service. That's right; it's duct tape holding the camera to the tripod; whatever works ;-)
Finally here are some pictures of the kids up front singing. I couldn't get them all in one picture so I broke them up into 2 pictures...

That's our daughter, Shelby, sitting on the step. It's obviously very tiring singing 2 Christmas song.
