On Sunday we visited the Friends Church in Highgate. Like most buildings in Jamaica the church had no air conditioning and it was very warm.
This blue building is their fellowship hall; following the service we were offered some refreshments. The church members were very warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home.
do you know why they do not have air conditioning? i'm thinking cost or environmental. also, what where your what were the refreshments?

Many don't have air conditioning in Jamaica because of the cost. Many items in Jamaica have to be imported so the costs get too far out of reach for people who make very little money.
ReplyDeleteOur refreshment was some type of bread; I don't remember the actual name but it was close to zuchini bread and a punch drink with some type of exotic fruit... they were both very yummy.
