I am not an expert on this topic (or even as informed as I should be) but I agree with this statement, "the earth is not overpopulated". Here are a couple of links to check out regarding the myth that the earth is overpopulated; check it out HERE and HERE.
We don't have too many people; we have too much government and too much greed. There are starving people in this world as a result of corrupt governments and those who are unwilling to share. We have more than enough food and more than enough land on the earth to take care of even more people; too often however, food and land is used as leverage to control people.
There are locations (cities) that are densely populated but that doesn't mean that the earth is overpopulated, it means some people need to move - I've got land for sale right next to me in fact. :-) If people living in cities don't like being around so many other people then they can move to Indiana which is loosing population or even to states like North or South Dakota. Abortion and population control are not the answer to poverty, starvation, or over crowding.
Thanks for posting this. It is indeed timely as I (and many others) watched history be made this evening.
ReplyDeleteHere is a quote from one of the links you posted that jumped out at me:
"McCain may be only a pragmatic moderate on the pro-life issue, or he may be a little more, but Obama, clearly, is rabidly pro-abortion.
Spread the word."
Sorry, PK...I couldn't resist.
