Sunday Night Mind Dump

• Our one year anniversary of "Building to Bless... Another Generation" was fantastic. I loved seeing all of the children on stage at the start of service!
  
• I've had the phrase, "The here and now affects the there and then." (1 Tim. 6:19) stuck in my head all week long... in fact I still hear it.
• If you didn't stop by the temporary Higher Ground Coffee shop you missed out on their "Building to Bless" anniversary special - $1 for any drink of your choice. 
• If all goes well we will dedicate the new construction next Sunday!
• A portion of our children's ministries met in their new rooms today. Word has it from the volunteers that the space is FANTASTIC.
• My wife looked hot today.
• I've gathered some firewood in anticipation of roasting smores this week.
• Speaking of wood: The Sticks Conference is just around the corner (Nov. 11-12) and I can't wait to meet some fellow pastor's who are ministering in similar contexts.
• November 8 and 9 I will preaching at a spiritual emphasis weekend (I don't know what else to call it) at my father's church near Indianapolis. 
• Our next sermon series is titled, "Why?". I have had numerous people over the last month ask me "why do bad things happen to good people", "why would God let me go through what I'm going through?" etc. I will do my best to answer those questions and more beginning next Sunday.
• I should have taken a nap this afternoon. I have a feeling I will be paying for it tomorrow.
• I am so tempted right now to make myself a latte - - or shall I have a scoop of ice cream?.... ... Okay I'll have both.
