Happy Independence day! If any country knows about freedom it is the United States. We also know that freedom isn't exactly free, it comes at a great cost; there has been a lot of blood shed in order for us to be free. Likewise, if any group of people know what freedom is, it has to be Christ followers. We too know that freedom isn't exactly free,there was a lot of blood shed in order for us to be free... "To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood" Rev. 1:5 "He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God." Rev. 19:13
Americans also know that with freedom comes responsibility and accountability. We have a requirement to submit to the authorities, obey the laws of the land, pay our taxes, etc. As followers of Christ with our freedom come responsibilities and accountability. "Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak." 1 Cor. 8:9 "Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom." James 2:12
I wouldn't trade my life of freedom here in America for residence in any other country. I also wouldn't trade my life of freedom in Jesus Christ for anything; the country God has prepared for me is unbelievable.
