7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Habit #6 from Stephen R. Covey's "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People"

"Synergize describes a way of working in teams. Apply effective problem solving. Apply collaborative decision making. Value differences. Build on divergent strengths. Leverage creative collaboration. Embrace and leverage innovation. It is put forth that when synergy is pursued as a habit, the result of the teamwork will exceed the sum of what each of the members could have achieved on their own. “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”" taken from Wikipedia.

Isn't this great? I love the words in that paragraph, "problem solving, collaborative, divergent strengths, creative collaboration, innovation, synergy..." What better way to accomplish a task and excel then in working with the RIGHT team? Notice I placed emphasis on the "right team". As I've heard Andy Stanley say before, "You've got to get the right people to the table." If you get the wrong people to the table you will not be as effective.

I love working with the right team and experiencing that synergy; how about you?

  1. It is amazing what can happen with a great team of people, but terrible with a not-so-great team of people. I think you hit the bulls-eye quoting about the "right team at the table." It's funny how God has wired us. We're all so different, but put us together in the right combination, and amazing things happen!
