Here's a hodgepodge of thoughts about Pastor's Short Course:
It's good to be back, had I stayed another day I would weigh at least another 5 pounds more!
I really enjoyed hanging out with Pastor Wes Davis again. It's amazing how many similarities there are between Riverton Friends Church and Farmland Friends Church - Wes and I are very fortunate pastors to have such great churches to minister to.
I have no idea how it happened, but I managed to put together the best golfing that I've done in a very long time and won the first ever "Quaker Cup".
I failed to win at "cornhole". Pastor Pink and I were on a team together and I must say, he is a very good "cornholer", I however, am not. I was like dead weight to him - sorry Pink.
I also got beat at tennis by a 72 year old man.
While we were away I created a new make believe super hero for Pastor Pink... the "Blue Flame", I pictured him wearing a blue leotard and white cape, he has a super power but you will have to ask me about it in person... it makes me laugh when I think of the Blue Flame.
Every year our chef, Dan, makes some great pies. On the night that Dan puts out the pies there is generally a mad dash to the counter to get your favorite flavor; my favorite happens to be Reeses Peanut Butter Cup pie. I had to knock down a few kids and an elderly gentleman to get my pie (just kidding). While walking back to my seat with my prized pie I started showing off like a ding dong and I nearly dropped it on the ground, fortunately, I made a fantastic juggling/diving save... crisis averted.
On our way home from the retreat a squirrel decided that life was just not worth living any longer and decided to run directly underneath our CR-V - a moment of silence for Mr. Squirrel... ... ... thank you.
Glad you had a good time and made it back safely!
