If you will recall in September of 2007 I bought a tank and 5 fish for a sermon illustration. There is only one survivor of the original fish and her name is "Shelby" coincidentally that is the name of our daughter as well.

Tammy woke me up this morning and said, "The shubunkin is on the floor dead and I'm not going to touch it." I asked if Shelby was aware of it yet; Tammy said she wasn't, so we began plotting how best to break the news to our 5 year old and to dispose of the remains. It was determined that I would be the fish undertaker and Tammy would be the bearer of bad news. Tammy went into the living room and told Shelby while I grabbed the net. There were tears and there was flushing but we are moving on. I hope "Shelby fish" doesn't slip into a depression all by herself in the tank now. If anyone knows a good fish counselor let me know.
(If you see Shelby do me a favor and please don't bring up the dead fish. Thanks)
