A little known fact about me is that I enjoy a good deep thought by Jack Handey every now and then. (A more well known fact is that I enjoy blond jokes. An even more well known fact is that I don't like country music) I have to be in the right mood in order for a "deep thought" to have maximum impact. I found a few that struck my funny bone this evening (Tomorrow I'll probably think they were absolutely stupid, but they were funny this evening).
"Whenever I need to "get away,'' I just get away in my mind. I go to my imaginary spot, where the beach is perfect and the water is perfect and the weather is perfect. The only bad thing there are the flies. They're terrible!"
"Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what IS that thing?!"
"When I was a child, there were times when we had to entertain ourselves. And usually the best way to do that was to turn on the TV."
"As I stood there looking at the beautiful waterfall, I wondered how may other people had stood there, and how many had candy corn "teeth" sticking out between their lips like I did."
"Mom used to warn me that I could lose an eye playing with BB guns. But she never warned me that I could also lose my BB gun, which I did."
"It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man."
And for my favorite of the evening; I plan on using this one...
"If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is, "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is, "Probably because of something you did.""
Do you have any favorites? Or maybe you have some deep thoughts of your own. If I were more creative this evening I'd come up with my own, but I'm feeling a bit too lazy.
