Did anybody catch the comments after the last post "What's on the IPod"? I'm telling ya' a new day is a' dawnin'. In approximately 2 weeks 'heavy b" becomes our official full-time youth pastor. Even though he has a wimpy Mp3 player and has a DC Talk song on it, (how did he get it off his cassette player and onto the Mp3 player?) he still knows some Christian groups that are not only still playing music but are still alive.
And then there is "chieftone". I'm so pumped! This dude is going to be on my elder board in about 2 weeks! I've got an elder pushing for pyrotechnics and some kickin' lights! Someone pinch me. ;-)
To take another line from P.O.D. - Everyday is a new day. I think from time to time we need some "SHOCK AND AWE". Shock people with what you do to reach people once again anything short of sin, i.e. pyro, flashing lights, loud music, videos..etc.
ReplyDeleteAnd when they are in the shock mode hit the with the AWE of Christ. Remember God move in ways that we cannot fathom. I still get chills from the Hitchhikers series where it got quiet with going out and out and bam there's Christ on the cross. That's what I'm talking about.
I'm just exicited about what God is doing and going to do with little ole FFC in the lil' ole town of Farmland..........and beyond. Hang on tight we're in for a ride that no amusement park can match.
That's right. MP3 Player. DC Talk. Old School.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I roll.
