The Monsters Within - Greed

Over the past several weeks at church we have been talking about the stuff that gets stuck in our heart that has the potential to mess with us and our relationships. This weekend I'm going to talk about a very sensitive subject - I will be talking about our heart and our possessions.

What I find interesting is that whenever I talk about money, people get so defensive. Reportedly, we’ve had people leave the church because they said all I ever talk about is money. What’s interesting is, I generally do one series a year on money and I do the same amount on family relationships. I’ve never had anyone leave the church saying, "all you talk about is the family".

So at the risk once again of having people get honked off at me I will be stepping on toes talking about one of the biggest things lodged in our hearts - GREED. Fortunately, God has plenty of helpful advice about how to continually rid our hearts of that monster called "greed".

Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Jesus
