This afternoon our family took a little jaunt over to Sanibel Island, Florida; Sanibel is known for the numerous shells that wash up onto the beach. Shelby had a great time picking up lots and lots and lots of shells. Despite her picking up 75-100 shells it didn’t even make a dent in the number of shells on the beach.
It was almost overwhelming looking at all of the shells, you couldn’t take a step without stepping on one; there had to be at least 2 bazillion shells on the shore. As I looked at the sea of shells (pun intended) on the ground, I couldn’t help but think about how big our God is. God created every single shell and every little organism that lived in it; He is also capable of understanding where each shell would eventually wind up. I’m sure He is delighted to see that at least 100 of His little creations will make their way back with one of His most prized creations, Shelby.
What a sight! I know the pictures don't do it justice but it comes really close. That's ALOT of shells! How fun! My kids would be in shell heaven. We usually only pick up about 30 on the beaches of San Diego and they're only about half an inch wide!
ReplyDeleteAnother amazing fact is there are more stars in our galaxy alone than there are grains of sand (and seashells) on this planet! God is BIG!
