It's official - our last Saturday Night Service will be Easter weekend, March 22nd. After speaking with the volunteers and leadership at FFC we decided to focus our energizes on our our 2 Sunday morning services. We've done the Saturday Night Service for about a year now and it is difficult to lay it down but I'm excited about all of the energy that we can now place into our two worship services on Sunday.
We will revisit the need for a third service in the future as we get our new construction and remodel done to our existing building. If you have called the Saturday Night Service "your worship service" we are encouraging you to attend either the 8:30 or 10:30 worship services; if you have been attending and have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to ask me. If you have been helping out at our Saturday Night Services I want to say a BIG thank you for all that you do! I've been so proud of all of our Saturday Night team and how they pitch in each and every week and give their very best to serve our church community.
I've had lots of good memories with our Saturday Night Service; I think one of my favorites was when we gave away the Nintendo Wii. That was FUN!
2 more Saturdays left - let's give Him our very best!
I'll miss the Saturday night service! Although we attended the Sunday service again after our commitment to the Saturday service was up, I had some great memories from it. One in particular was when I brought some guests. One of them was a teen who shot and killed his father when he was only 10 years old. This was something he wished to speak to a pastor about for YEARS. Finally, he mustered up the courage to ask you about the ten commandments after one Saturday service. It wasn't a direct approach, but a HUGE step for him. I believe it was the casual, more intimate feel of this service that made him comfortable enough to talk to you about this.
ReplyDeleteNate,
ReplyDeleteIt was always so great seeing you come in with a big crew of teens - that was fun! I'm glad we were able to minister to them.
