Habit #1 from Stephen R. Covey's "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People"
"Be Proactive. Here, Covey emphasizes the original sense of the term "proactive" as coined by Victor Frankl. You can either be proactive or reactive when it comes to how you respond to certain things. When you are reactive, you blame other people and circumstances for obstacles or problems. Being proactive means taking responsibility for every aspect of your life. Initiative and taking action will then follow." taken from Wikipedia.
I was listening to a message from Dave Ramsey today and he referred to "The 7 Habits..." and being proactive with our finances rather than reactive. Being proactive is such a great habit to maintain, not just with our finances but in every aspect of our life. Where are you at right now... proactive or reactive?
Proactive or procreative?
ReplyDeleteThe title of a recent post answers your question and mine: "The EXCUSE for My Lack of Discipline". That's reactive (and procreative).
