Gunslingers Week 3 Thoughts

This Sunday is our 3rd and final week in our series "Gunslingers". This Sunday we will talk about the mission of the "Gunslinger".

Here is a brief recap of what we have learned so far: The Bible makes it clear that we are not on this earth for our own selfish pleasure, we are here to bring God glory in all the different spheres of our life. He becomes our primary focus; in order for that to happen we must die to ourselves and begin to live for Christ. The way I stated that fact in relation to our series was, "It is better that we go down in a blaze, for God's glory." Once we have died to ourselves we then set our feet on the trail of risk and adventure. A life lived for God's glory will mean that we love Him and love others and that is costly, in fact sometimes it is risky. The way I stated that was, "We need more guts, for His glory."

Here's a little bit of what we will cover this Sunday: For the Gunslinger, Jesus Christ has become the all-consuming passion of their lives... Their desire is to reconnect humanity to Him. Their mission is to make others glad in God. We make others glad in God when we as Christians care for those around us by: providing food, clothes, shelter, and water, etc. That’s what Jesus meant when he said, Matt 5:16, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

See you this Sunday!
