Inside of every one of us is a little defense attorney by the name of "Adam". Ever since the fall of man, in the Garden, we have a little attorney arguing a case to walk in the direction of temptation and impulses. Given enough time we make bad ideas sound like good ideas. Our hearts are fickle and deceptive. That is why we can't live our life and make decisions simply off of our emotions; our hearts will take us down a path that ultimately leads to the wrong places. Wisdom, however, is a much better guide.
At every juncture of our life the question is not: is it legal, is it ethical, is it permissible, is there a verse against it, does it feel right? The question needs to be, "What is the wise thing to do?" What is the wise thing to do: in our marriages, with our money, in regard to morality, with our relationships? If you and I can seek wisdom rather than listening to our cleverly crafted arguments from within, we will be much better off.
I like this..."If you and I can seek wisdom rather than listening to our cleverly crafted arguments from within, we will be much better off." AMEN...Sometimes my inner arguments sound rather convincing.
