Values, Passions, & Dreams

As we near the end of the year I find myself, like many people, evaluating where I've been over the last year and looking forward to where I want to be in the next year. I stumbled upon something the other day that I had written in my PDA almost 9 months ago. I jotted these notes down while reading through Craig Groeschel's book "Chazown". Reading "Chazown" really caused me to evaluate my personal values, passions, and dreams. Here is what I wrote down...

I value:
Evangelism
Authenticity
Passion
Reliability
Personal Growth

Some of my passions are:
Church growth/health
Changed lives
Balanced living
Creative/Effective communication
Leadership

Now for the very personal part; some of my dreams:
To lead at least one person a day (365 per year) to Jesus Christ.
To increasingly communicate creatively.
Travel more.
Continually come up with unique and accurate biblical insights.
Lead many other pastors.

How about you? What are some of your values, passions, and dreams?

  1. Wow... self-inventory time: values, passions, and dreams.

    My values...

    *Evangelism
    *Discipleship
    *Learning
    *Personal Growth
    *Honesty, Truth, Genuineness

    My passions...

I want to know more about God and how to please Him. He has yet to speak to me audibly, but He did speak a long time ago to prophets, apostles, and teachers. I am passionate about God's Word, which is truth.

    *Learning truth
    *Applying truth
    *Sharing truth
    *Teaching truth
    *Inspiring others to seek truth

    My dreams...

*Develop a consistent, daily quiet time... never miss a day.
*Continue in formal education for a lifetime.
*Develop into a confident, effective communicator of God's Word.
*Regarding the student ministries at FFC, I am praying for God to give me vision. Over the past few weeks I have woken up in the middle of the night several times with pieces of the dream. Once the pieces begin to fit together, I'll look forward to sharing the vision with the students and the church.
