Today I had lunch with a good friend. Over lunch we were talking about some of the struggles and crud that he has recently been going through. In the course of the conversation he said how he believed that God was going to use his past struggles to possibly help others in the future. I agreed with him. I also said, "You are going to get used by somebody. Either Satan will use it or God will."
Really isn't that the truth with all of our lives? Either we will ultimately be used by God or we will be used by Satan. It depends in whose hands we rest. Some people may think, "Well, I'm going to remain neutral. There's no way I'd let Satan use me, but I'm not going to become some 'Jesus freak' either." Satan would love for you to remain neutral. If you aren't doing any good for God then you can chalk one up for the devil.
Satan would love to take you out by your willful sinfulness, but if he can't get you to do that, then he will settle for your apathy. You will get used one way or the other. Your life will be used for the glory of God or the enemy will use your life to destroy the lives of others or water your life down to the point that you make no positive impact upon God's kingdom. Who's using you?
