Sunday Night Thoughts

• Our Gunslinger series is officially over now. I've got to say that this was a challenging series to preach.
• I sense a lot of "push back" when I talk about: dying to self, risking our lives for the love of God and for the love of others, and becoming missionaries.
• It was fun watching all of the country/western fans get into the theming of this series.
• There's enough hay on the stage at church to choke a goat - this ought to be a lot of fun to clean up! Time to break out the shop vac or to bring in a horse... which creates other clean up issues.
• Our next series will be on the book of Philippians.
• I'm looking forward to sharing the pulpit in this next series with Pastor Jeff and Ryan McAllister. The weeks that I'm sharing the pulpit will give me the opportunity to plan future sermon series.
• It was great having our little cook-out fellowship meal after church today. It was very casual, but it gave folks that didn't have other plans an opportunity to hang out with one another.
• I'm looking forward to the day off tomorrow. We are planning on having friends over tomorrow for a little cook-out and possibly a little Mario Kart competition (our own Indy 500) :-)
