Here is the drift at our patio door. It actually shrunk some because the wind blew away some of what had built up yesterday morning.
This is our bedroom window...
Here is the snow piled up from our driveway...
They had to call out the big guns to plow out our "street" (We are in the town of Parker City, but this is still a gravel road. Since we are right next to a field we get lots of drifting.)
This is my favorite picture. This is a view from the mountain of snow that came off our driveway...
Talking about the big guns and seeing the backhoe, I had to share this story. When it snows we always clean our neighbors drives. We don't expect any pay, it's just somthing we do. Sometimes we are surprised by a card in the mail with some money or gift certificate saying thank you. There is one drive we don't clean because he has his own snow blower, but this time it was just too much snow. (I should mention he is my ex-dentist) So he calls for help....no problem...it's a big drive but we can handle it. I make my first pass and as I am turning around he stops me - climbs up in the cab and shakes my hand and says "thank you" and returns back to his house. As I am making the second pass he stops me again, climbs up in the cab and says, "I've been thinking how I can repay you." Then he tells me, "I'll give you a free dential cleaning, just stop by the office any time." So PK I was woundering did you offer this person anything for cleaning out your drive...like a free sermon...baptism...prayer?
ReplyDeleteJust wondering....Jack
Jack,
ReplyDeleteI wish I would have thought of that sooner. I think I should have offered dental cleaning as well. I wonder how he feels about me brushing and flossing his teeth?... might look a little awkward.
Next storm I'll be prepared with some act of kindness. Thanks for the reminder.
