This morning at church Ryan McAllister, our 2nd service worship leader, came up with a great idea called "lesson in a bag". I got a paper bag and ran around the sanctuary at the start of service and collected items from people to place in the bag. (Some of our folks have some really odd items in their pockets and purses). Once I had collected the items Ryan reached into the bag and pulled out an item and had to give a Bible lesson on that object. Today he pulled out hand lotion and talked about the healing power of God in our lives.
This was a very different way to begin the service but it really got people engaged right away in the service so I think we will try it again in the near future. Who knows maybe we will get something in the bag that will completely stump Ryan.
Any thoughts on items we could place in the bag to throw Ryan off? Leave a comment and share your ideas...
Lesson in a bag, Lesson in a bag, Woooooooo....
ReplyDeletePretty neat idea and a cool little message at that. Ryan told me of a few of the items in there that would have made things interesting to see what he could have come up with. Maybe next time I'll put my guitar in there but I think we'd need a bigger bag.
