Today I re-entered the land of the living after having a wonderful experience with the flu the past couple of days. It felt so good to shave, take a shower, and get out of the house for my "spiritual day off". I spent my day at several different places: 1. Wal-Mart (had to get new tires). Worked on the first message in an upcoming series "Margin$". 2. Second stop was - Starbucks. I met Tammy and Shelby there and enjoyed some quality time talking about the future. By the way our Starbucks really needs to get WiFi. So without the use of the internet I had to go old school and read off of a printed page. Tammy brought me the latest REV magazine. Much of the magazine had to deal with the issue of control - the topic of this Sunday's sermon. 3. Third stop in my pilgrimage today was Panera. They have free WiFi (are you listening Starbucks!).
By the way: if you live in the area, I would encourage you to make your way to church tonight and every Thursday evening for the next several weeks to hear Debbie Howell teach on the topic of "Offense"; I thought about just calling the people who I thought really need to be there but they would get offended =)
