If you missed last Sunday's service then you missed out on learning how to make more money. That's right I explained to everyone how they could make more money. I've never seen everyone so excited as last Sunday :-) Seriously, if you missed the message request a DVD (it's free) and be sure to catch up with our "Building to Bless" series.I'll post some of the main thoughts here so that you can begin making more money now -
Every decision that you make is determined by your beliefs. You have certain beliefs about marriage or parenting and your beliefs affect the decisions you make regarding parenting/marriage. If you want different outcomes in your life, the truth is, you will need to make different decisions which means you need a different way of thinking. When it comes to money every decision you make financially is an overflow of what you believe about debt, about investing, about spending, saving, about purchasing, etc. So if you are going to change your financial outcome it is not a matter of making different decisions but a matter of changing your beliefs.
King David gives us an excellent look at the core belief that will assist us in actually making more money.
1 Chronicles 29, “Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all…Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.”
The fact is God owns it all. When you begin to believe the truth that God owns it all and He distributes as He sees fit, then you begin to behave as a manager and not an owner. That’s what God says all throughout scripture, we are not owners, we are simply managers who are responsible for managing His stuff.
When the person with a little bit of money and the person with a lot of money begins to embrace the fact that their money is not theirs they make different kinds of decisions with their money because they are now responsible. And when you are responsible you make better choices and when you make better choices you have more money.
Let me break it down:
Belief: God owns it all.
Therefore: I am not an owner but a manger
Result: Since it’s not mine I become more responsible
When I’m more responsible I make better financial decisions.
When I make better financial decisions – I have more money.
