Today was day 1 of our Catalyst Conference experience; 5:15 a.m. came very early this morning, and it was still very dark outside when we first arrived on the "red carpet" before 7:00 a.m.. After waiting outside for what seemed like an eternity we quickly made our way into the auditorium where James scored us some sweet seats - ROW 2!!!! That's right second row from the stage on the floor. Over 11,000 people in attendance and we have some of the best seats. All around us was reserved seating except for the seats we had!
The first speaker was Andy Stanley, Andy spoke on the power of a leader. Jesus is our example in John 13 (washing His disciples feet), He led with humility and leveraged His power for the sake of others - not for self.
Catherine Rohr is doing a great work with Prisoner Entrepreneurship Program; this is a program that seeks to bring some life change to prisoners through entrepreneurial efforts.
Other speakers and guests included: Patrick Lencioni - job misery. The authors of the book UnChristian. Shane Claiborne, Pastor Sunday Adelaja, and Rick Warren also spoke. I've got to say that Francis Chan brought it today! This guy is crazy on fire for God; his passion was contagious.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot I set 3 world records today - 1. Most Frisbees tossed simultaneously 2. Most soap bubbles blown at once 3. Most soap bubbles popped by Frisbees.
If I had more time and I weren't so wiped out I'd blog about our experience at Chili's this evening... holy cow, I've never waited so long for a burger in my life!
I'd post pictures but blogger isn't cooperating this evening.
